“Pulitzer Prize-winning oral historian Studs Terkel's oral histories have been enjoyed by millions of Americans, and have earned him a Pulitzer Prize, induction into The American Academy of Arts and Letters, The National Humanities Medal, and The National Book Foundation Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters, among other honors.

My American Century collects the best of his interviews and the introductions from each of his eight classic books .... It is a both stellar collection of portraits and a panoramic chronicle of America from the 1920s onward."

Please join us for an interactive evening of music & storytelling from Studs Terkel's famous book, My American Century. Come hear tales from a garrulous hoodlum from Chicago, from a young man who rode the rails, from a Kentucky woman who picked fruit in the Depression and a Marine who fought at Okinawa, from a Nisei whose family was interned in Colorado, and a WWII nurse in a burns unit.

The suggested donation is $20 to cover the expense of the theatre space. All additional monies will be donated to The Open Door and Cape Ann Veterans Services. Many of the stories come from Hard Times and The Good War, so we’re very pleased to be supporting these two causes.

Wine and beer will be available. This is an open event with no reserved tickets. However please let us know if you’re planning on attending so we can properly stock the bar! catcollab@gmail.com
