About "Blithe Spirit"

Lauren Suchecki and Marc St. Pierre
Keith Powers
Wicked Local

"Coward’s best humor pivots around the fun that can be had wearing smart dinner clothes, holding a dry martini, and spouting witticisms — and the handsome St. Pierre fills that bill splendidly.

"Suchecki explores what it means to be fickle, ghastly (made up perfectly in chalky, sexy splendor) and alluring with an easy manner, and Teele equally inhabits her character — remarkably not a stereotypical dim foil, but a genuine presence who grows from bemusement to befuddlement to some sort of comprehension — with believability. Nobody could play an enthusiastic soothsayer any better than Aliskevicz.

"Coward definitely considers a dozen polysyllabic, recondite words to be more effective than pith. That worked better in a different time — but it still entertains in this production, thanks to crisp action, terrific casting and a troupe that brings its own blithe spirit to the proceedings."

About "Leading Ladies"

Keith Powers
Wicked Local

"Want a sure-fire laugh? Put a couple brawny guys in heels and dresses and watch them try to prance around ...

CAT Collaborative has mounted successful comedies in past seasons ... Opening night of "Leading Ladies" showed that this will be another successful run."

About "Becky Shaw"

Keith Powers
Wicked Local

"The Cape Ann Theater Collaborative has another winner. After last year’s engaging Neil Simon comedy 'Rumors,' the troupe has turned a little darker this year, but no less funny, and no less engaging either ... no theater lover should miss this chance to see Cape Ann Theater Collaborative’s ambitious staging.

About "Rumors"

Keith Powers
Wicked Local

"The entire cast gets credit for understanding the adrenaline rush that Simon creates, and transferring it to the stage. Standing out among them were Cliff Blake, who as the whiplashed Lenny had already nailed his role even before his show-stopping monologue at the climax, where he explains ex-tempore to a police office what has transpired.

Pauline Miceli and Marc St. Pierre, who as the Gormans are the first couple to arrive and start the frenetic action off with booze-filled, anxiety laced imaginings, couldn’t have been cast any better.

Sheryl Reed as Lenny’s diffident wife Claire, Joey Arsenault Lawson and Carolyn Aliskevicz as the professionally successful but maturity-challenged Cusacks, and the warring Coopers, played by Robert Kent and Lauren Ashly Suchecki, complete the self-centered dinner party guest list."

About "Sylvia"

Wicked Local

"CATC unleashes the howlingly funny and touching tale that takes the term “‘animal lover” to a whole other level. 'Sylvia,' by A.R. Gurney, is a romantic comedy that tells the story of a middle-aged, empty-nest couple, Greg and Kate, who have returned from the suburbs to live in the city ...

Not only are there laughs, but there are sighs as well as the needs and wishes in life are played out with poignancy."
